Did anyone catch the OSU drubbing of Northwestern on Saturday? I know that OSU has struggled on offense against some mediocre defenses for at least the first half throughout the year. But DAMN the defense is just plain nasty. I've never seen so many bone crunching hits, especially on special teams. Northwestern was getting blown away to the point I don't think they wanted to come off the bench on offense. Tressel had Boekman throw nothing but bombs and they were all to a wide open Robo, a defensive touchdown, and its 28-0 and the backups are in with 5 minutes to go in the first quarter. Tough game for WVU this Friday Ceezar, good luck cuz south florida looks like the real deal. And USC fan, I hope to meet you in the title but for some reason your team always loses to some team from the Pac-10 that makes absolutely no sense, hopefully its Washington, but good luck as well. I think OSU has a home and home with USC coming up and if its next year look out cuz this team is young and nasty. GO BUCKS

Re: Ohio State
Wed, September 26, 2007 - 1:47 PMI was stoked about OSU's win but not totally satisfied. Our defense was definitely on point but we still need to tie the offense together a little more tightly. For one, this is the same N'western that gave Duke their first win in 23 games. Duke! Secondly, I don't like that Henton kid one bit. He was trying too hard to be Troy Smith. Apparently he got himself busted soliciting a hooker today so we won't be seeing him for a while. Thirdly, the Big Ten is so turdly this year that it's going to kill our strength of schedule.
Here's the future OSU schedule. Next year we're in LA, '09 we have 'em at the Shoe. www.mililanibuckeye.net/future...es.html
I've been heralding South Florida for 3 seasons now. I saw what they were doing and knew it wouldn't be long before they started getting some spotlight their way. Cincinnati, too. I think these two schools are some of the most underrated and unappreciated teams in the NCAA. I've got a lot of respect for the Big East. That being said, I'm still going with the 'Eers. I'll say by 14, too.
O-H! -

Fri, September 28, 2007 - 1:51 PMIO and wow 14 is way too much in my opinion. I think South Florida and Cincinnati play to good on defense to let White and Slaton run wild. I will admit that that Noel Divine kid looks special, and Renault the WR is very skilled but I think it could be a close one tonight. I don't think the Big 10 is as bad as everyone is preaching about. I hate this whole my conference vs. your conference thing. Lets wait till bowl season for that nonsense. Or maybe schedule more big non-conference games. People can dump on almost every conference if you really wanted to -

Fri, September 28, 2007 - 8:36 PMWow, I guess I underestimated the Bulls. Their defense was vicious tonight, though WVU wasn't helping with 6 turnovers (and 4 more fumbles that they luckily recovered). That was an awesome game, though, from kick-off to the final snap. I think my heart rate was irregular for the entire game. This is what football is supposed to be! I can't wait to see how Cinci fares in Tampa.

Re: Ohio State
Sun, September 30, 2007 - 4:42 AM've not been posting it (my football talk) here this year since I think it bores most people but the topic of discussion that seems to come up week after week is how wacky this season has been; "the weirdness continues". This weekend was no exception. First my 'Eers lost in Tampa (but that's ok because I've been praising USF & Cinci for years; I'm glad to see them finally get some respect), but then Oklahoma AND Texas lost to unranked teams (that puts a big damper in the Red River Bowl next week), Bowden gets his first win against Bama, Rutgers lost (I was expecting that. Maryland is a team that's usually on the verge of being good so they're always bringing good games to the table. Yesterday was one of those days), Penn St. lost to Illinois (Ron Zook finally working his magic up there?), Clemson lost, and Florida in the final seconds... I didn't mention Oregon because they're the only ranked team to lose to a higher ranked opponent.
The Spartans threatened Wisconsin the entire game and poor Barry is sitting on a donut today after puckering his sphincter for four hours straight.
LSU was, apparently, focused on next week's game and struggled with Tulane the first half. If that had been a team that could take advantage of such a distraction, like SC (as they did to UGA), LSU would have been added to the above list.
And USC had trouble with Washington - a team who, just two weeks ago, was shut out 45-0 in the first half by the Buckeyes and only finally put 7 on the board in the 2nd half against 2nd & 3rd stringers. Can USC get past Cal?
My 'fun theory' today is that UF comes back next week to beat LSU and USC squeaks past Cal and wins the season out remaining #1. That puts OSU & USC in the big one and sets up our scheduled non-conference games next year and the year after (in LA next year; at the Shoe in '09). -

Re: Ohio State
Sun, September 30, 2007 - 10:59 AMWow what a day. I could understand Texas going down because they have been eeking out wins against some weak teams but they got blown away by two punt return TDs and an INT TD return. What the hell happened to Oklahoma. They were blowing teams away by about 50, then Colorado comes out of nowhere with a comeback victory for the ages. By the way it was Northwestern that the bucks blew out 45 zip in the first half, Washington was actually beating OSU 7-3 at the half before getting beat down by the bucks. USC played absolutely pathetic and still somehow beat Washington. LSU looked very lethargic against a 1-2 conference USA team in Tulane. Florida was going to lose eventually, so OSU should be @ least number 4 in the polls. Purdue did not look overly impressive while letting the Irish come back and make a game of it. I think OSU will roll through a weak big ten. Niether MSU or Wisconsin look particularly scary. And Northwestern came back from the absolute mauling from OSU to play Michigan fairly close. Heres to the Irish going 0-8 and the Bucks going back to the title against who the hell knows. Go Bucks. -

Re: Ohio State
Fri, October 26, 2007 - 3:07 PMWell now that I'm waiting for ESPN to tell me why the buckeyes will lose I just wanted to bask in the sunshine that is all the hate coming from everywhere and everyone hoping for my beloved Buckeyes to lose. I know OSU got crushed in the bowl game and I won't give any lame excuses. That was last year, we are a different team. Don't tell me how great the SEC is and say a team like Vanderbilt could win the big ten. Save all that nonsense for the bowl season Spurrier. If OSU can win four more games, two tough ones on the road, then we will have deserved another crack at the NC. And gimme a break this is our fourth nite game already this year, all on the road, now that should go into strength of schedule. I really think this D is playing with a chip on its shoulder after giving up a ton the last two games last year. They have given up four TDs in eight games. GO BUCKS. -

Re: Ohio State
Fri, October 26, 2007 - 3:19 PMYeah, all I hear down here is how OSU is a fluke. I was at a dinner the other night with my company and had an OSU shirt on so a group of LSU fans started talking smack. I hope LSU wins out just so we can go smack 'em in the mouth.
